Daisetsuzan National Park is the largest national park of Hokkaido. It preserves many beautiful mountains and forests. In the early koyo season, you can admire spectacular colors by hiking into the higher elevations Mount Asahidake, Ginsendai, or Kogen Onsen. In the late season, the colors are beautiful in the lower elevations.

Among best spots to see autumn leaves in Japan, Hachimatai in Tohoku is a great destination. You can enjoy some of the most fantastic autumn color in Hachimatai Mountains.Hachimatai welcomes visitors with beautiful colors at the summit of Mount Hachimantai, Goshogake Onsen and Tamagawa Onsen. Mount Takao in Tokyo is another excellent spot to view colorful leaves in autumn. You can go hiking and enjoy autumnal sceneries in a natural surrounding of Takaosan, a wonderful wooded mountain with temple.

Rikugien with fantastic seasonal sceneries is a must-stop for travelers to Tokyo during the autumn. It is one of Japan’s loveliest landscape gardens. Its autumn leaves are often considered among the best in this city. You can admire colorful leaves when walking around the garden and take some nice photos.

About 15km to the north from the center of the city of Asaka, Mino Park is strongly recommended in the list of Japan’s must-sees in autumn. Mino Park is a beautiful valley with a temple and waterfall which offer you an impressive scene of a magnificent mountain landscape. It is a famous koyo spots where you can view various colors on trees; it is really a miracle of the nature.
